Symptom: Not working and error sign (14) or error signal (A: off, B: blink)

CHECK HI-LIMIT SWITCH (32)
This error is mostly related Hi-limit switch (32), which is high-temperature prevention device. When hot water reaches over 180F, this safety device is automatically tripped, and the T-K1 will be shut off completely. This Hi-limit switch will not automatically reset, it must be manually reset. Without Temperature Controller (TK-RE01), T-K1 hot water output temperature is set maximum 120F hot water by factory.

Even with TK-RE01, set at 167F maximum. There are three reasons why it high limit occurs - A, B, and C.

  1. Easy to heat water to high temperature because inlet water is supplied pre-heated. If Inlet temperature is over 120F such as pre-heating system (solar heating) or closed circulation system (re-circulation system, any heating system, floor-heating system) without Pump control Thermostat (for circulation pump), high limit will happen. Contact Technical Department to get information for installation diagram.
  2. Easy to heat water up because of small flow rate. Water flow less than 0.75 GPM (gallon/minute) cannot be used continuously. First, clean water filter properly, Increase your flow rate manually, and change your habit to mixing water. Some faucets will cause flow restriction of its mechanical reason.
  3. Computer control trouble. It is required to check and maintain by TAKAGI Technician. (very rare possibility)

    1. Close water shut off valve.
    2. Clean water Filter (44) on the cold side connection properly.
    3. Open water shut off valve.
    4. Open front cover (4).
    5. Push the TEST switch (lower green) on the GFI (58) with your finger.
    6. Red light between green buttons will be on.
    7. Locate hi-limit switch (32).
    8. Push reset button with finger between connections. If you feel any clicking sound, it has been reset.
    9. Push RESET switch (upper green) on the GFI (58) with your finger.
    10. Red light between green buttons will be light off.
